Three dead when bus carrying teenagers crashes
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Fire Department says three people were killed when a bus carrying teens from a church camp crashed on a busy thoroughfare.
Indianapolis Fire Department Lt. Ato McTush said the dead included a man and a woman. He did not have information about the third victim.
Witnesses said the bus came off Interstate 465 at a high rate of speed Saturday afternoon, struck a retaining wall as it tried to round a curve and overturned.
The bus was carrying 40 people who are members of Colonial Hills Baptist Church and were returning from camp when the crash happened.

Former Rep. Lindy Boggs of Louisiana dies at age 97
WASHINGTON – Former Rep. Lindy Boggs, a plantation-born Louisianan who used her soft-spoken grace to fight for civil rights during nearly 18 years in Congress after succeeding her late husband in the House, died Saturday. She was 97.
Boggs, who later served three years as ambassador to the Vatican during the Clinton administration, died of natural causes at her home in Chevy Chase, Md., according to her daughter, ABC News journalist Cokie Roberts.
Boggs’ years in Congress started with a special election in 1973 to finish the term of her husband, Thomas Hale Boggs Sr., whose plane disappeared over Alaska six months earlier. Between them, they served a half-century in the House.

Jury awards $18.6 million for not fixing credit report
PORTLAND, Ore. – A federal jury in Oregon awarded $18.6 million to a woman who spent two years unsuccessfully trying to get Equifax Information Services to fix major mistakes on her credit report.
Julie Miller of Marion County was awarded $18.4 million in punitive damages and $180,000 in compensatory damages, though Friday’s award against one of the nation’s major credit bureaus is likely to be appealed.
The jury was told she contacted Equifax eight times between 2009 and 2011 in an effort to correct inaccuracies, including erroneous accounts and collection attempts, as well as a wrong Social Security number and birthday. Her lawsuit alleged the Atlanta-based company failed to correct the mistakes.
A Federal Trade Commission study earlier this year of 1,001 consumers who reviewed 2,968 of their credit reports found 21 percent contained errors. Five percent of the errors represented issues that would lead consumers to be denied credit.

Thousands of bees attack couple, kill horses
PANTEGO, Texas – A swarm of about 30,000 bees attacked a North Texas couple as they exercised their miniature horses, stinging the animals so many times they died.
Kristen Beauregard, 44, was stung about 200 times, and her boyfriend about 50 times, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Saturday. But the horses were so covered in bees they shimmered. Neither could be saved.
“They were chasing us down, they were following us,” Beauregard said of the incident Wednesday evening. “We swept up piles and piles of them ... it was like a bad movie.”
The bees are being tested to see whether they are Africanized or “killer” bees. It is unclear what prompted them to leave the hive.
