Navajo State Park to host bear-awareness, rock-art events

Navajo State Park is located along Colorado Highway 151 southwest of Pagosa Springs. and has marinas in Colorado and New Mexico.

Navajo State Park invites the public to two programs.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, a presentation at the amphitheater will address bear awareness and how to camp where bears may be present.From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, people will have the chance to create rock art and paint with mud paint in the pavilion next to the visitors center.These programs are free with the purchase of a $7 daily pass per vehicle or an annual pass for $70. All materials and gear will be provided.
