A new Thursday night Farmers Market debuts on June 15 at the Bayfield Block Party on Mill Street starting at 6 p.m.
"The opening of this market is an effort to attract local producers and artisans to downtown Bayfield, said Jackie Morlan, one of the main organizers of the event. "This is also part of an overall plan to revitalize Mill Street and to provide healthy choices in food for local residents."
Starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, the downtown Farmers Market will take place every Thursday on the corner of Mill Street and Bayfield Parkway, under the shade of trees in Joe Stephenson Memorial Park. Vendor space is free the first year of operation but all participants must have a business license. License applications are available at bayfieldgov.org or by going to bayfielddowntownfarmersmarket.org.
The Saturday Bayfield Farmers Market is set to start this week in Bayfield Roadside Park. A business license also is required. All farmers, vendors and businesses are welcome at the Saturday event, according to the group's facebook page.
