Sanjiv Doreswamy will be joining the Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado as a new business loan development officer.
Doreswamy has experience in commercial lending, business mentoring, new market tax credits and a variety of federal funding agencies. He has a master of public administration from the University of New Mexico and a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama.
The Region 9 Business Loan Fund program provides “gap” financing to support job creation and retention in La Plata, Archuleta, Montezuma, Dolores and San Juan counties. In addition to larger loans of $100,000 or more, Region 9 provides micro-loans to small business and entrepreneurs that can include up to $5,000 in grants for technical assistance.
