With regard to the editorial on Oct. 21 with the headline, “True political middle is idea,” we need a political organization for moderates and independents that endorses candidates who support free and fair elections, and are willing to work “across the aisle.” It might be a third party called the Constitution Party, which would not put forth its own candidates unless there was no moderate candidate in a given race.
On the same day in the guest column, “Durango entrance needs welcoming art,” I have a suggestion. A piece that would depict shoes: a hiking shoe next to a walking stick; a bike shoe on a bike pedal; a cowboy boot on a stirrup; a boat shoe next to a kayak paddle; moccasins in a dancing position next to a drum – all next to a river bank.
They could change with the seasons.
They would be “feet for feats” in and around Durango.
