Reunion set for Allison area

The Allison, Arboles and Tiffany reunion will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Allison Grange Hall. Please bring a dish to share. Tableware and drinks will be furnished.

Cowboy Gathering seeks parade entries

The Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering is seeking entries for its motorless parade, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, in downtown Durango.

Advanced online registration is encouraged and will continue until Oct. 1. There is no entry fee. Trophies will be awarded this year in seven categories.

Library offers Tech 102 class

The Pine River Library is offering "Technology 102," the second part of an introductory technology class. This section of the class will allow students to explore current technology, providing tips on email, the internet, eCommerce, digital photos and safe computing.  Participants did not have to attend the first part of this series.

"Technology 102" is taught by Jon Cordalis, a.k.a "The Computer Tutor."

The three-hour course will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2. There is a $10 charge for the class, due at registration. Space is limited.

Ignacio library holding classes for tweens

Ignacio Community Library has classes for tweens from 2 to 4 p.m. every Wednesday. September's schedule includes mini golf on Sept. 2; fun with science with catapaults, making goo and more on Sept. 9; paracords on Sept. 16; cooking on Sept. 23; and board games on Sept. 30. WholeExpo set for Sept. 12-13

WholeExpo, the Four Corner's 20th annual holistic showcase of ecological products and services, presents exhibits, workshops and seminars that support health, harmony and spiritual awareness.

This year's expo on Sept. 12 and 13 will feature 90 exhibitors, 14 educational seminars and workshops, as well as outdoor presentations to enhance physical, mental and spiritual health. Visitors to the expo can meet with chiropractors, nurses, shamans and energy healers.

Exhibitors will cover thermal imaging, acupuncture, oriental medicine, chiropractic medicine, essential oils and supplements to enhance all aspects of your life. Discover the perfect piece of handcrafted jewelry, have an aura photograph or a soul painting, shop for handcrafted gift items, clothing, crystals and gemstones. Ignacio library hosting MakerSpace

Ignacio Community Library is hosting MakerSpace sessions every Monday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.

The following supplies and instructions will be available:

Saturday, Sept. 5, Piñata Making, Part 1: create papier-mâché piñatas in celebration for our Latino Americans party.

Saturday, Sept. 12, Piñata Making, Part 2: join the fun creating piñatas even if you were unable to make part 1.

Monday, Sept. 14, Tin Can Lantern: design and make traditional tin can lanterns. Please register to reserve the materials needed.

Saturday, Sept. 19. Traditional bow making basics: The class will cover techniques and tools used to produce functional wood bows for archery.

Monday, Sept. 21, Minecraft origami: this skill class will work on making "Steve" from the world of Minecraft.

Saturday, Sept. 26, Traditional Arrow Making: The class will cover techniques and tools for making your own traditional wood arrows. Patrons who have registered for the class will be able to take an arrow home with them.

Monday, Sept. 28,  3D Printing: We will be operating ICL's Makergear M2 3D printer. For more information, call the library at 563-9287.
