Nicole Fuller, a psychotherapist and certified addictions counselor, will discuss positive mental health as the school year starts.
Fuller, who has a practice in Bayfield, will discuss mental health challenges, including risk factors, warning signs, symptoms and diagnoses and treatment options.
Frequent mental health diagnoses also will be covered, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and self-harm. Fuller's discussion will start at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20 at the Pine River Library. All are welcome to attend.
Homeopathy can be used for common complaints such as injury, colds, acute grief, menstrual cramps, cough, joint pain, stomach upset, burns and stings. Isabel Frankel, a certified classical homeopath, will host a class from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22. Frankel will introduce attendees to homeopathy and teach them how to build their own home remedy kit.

Ignacio Community Library will show the family movie "Hercules" at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, followed by movies for grownups, "All About Eve," at 4 p.m.
The library will host the Ignacio Floral & Gifts Shop at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 as employees teach a basic floral arranging class. The cost is $10 a person, to sign up call or visit the library at 563-9287.
English as a second language, GED and high school equivalency classes will start Aug. 27 at Durango Adult Education Center, located in the Commons Building at 701 Camino del Rio.
Registration for classes is required and is held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Aug. 27. Child care services are available during evening classes.

Ron Shuali, author of Breaking the Bullying Circle, will speak at 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 at the Ignacio High School auditorium. Shuali will teach solutions for behavior and interpersonal issues.
Shuali's presentation is free and sponsored by Southern Ute Community Action Programs.
The Pine River Library is hosting an outdoor showing of "The Last Jedi," the latest installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy on Friday, Aug. 24. The film starts at sunset and will still be shown inside in case of inclement weather. There will be free movie theater popcorn from Allen Theaters for all and dressing in costume is encouraged. Blankets or chairs are welcome.
San Juan Mountains Association and San Juan National Forest will sponsor an edible plants field seminar and walk at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday west of Durango in La Plata Canyon.
Katrina Blair, co-founder of Turtle Lake Refuge and edible plant expert, will teach participants how to find and prepare edible wild plants in the area, such as thistles, chokecherries and dandelions. Cost is a $10 suggested donation.

Bayfield High School cheerleaders are selling organic Palisade peaches for $30 for a half box. Orders and payment are due Aug. 18. Peaches will be available for pick-up on Aug. 25.
A National Geographic "Living with Wolves" photographic exhibit opened Monday and will be on display through Nov. 30 at the Southern Ute Museum and Cultural Center, 503 Ouray Drive, in Ignacio.
The exhibit, supported by Rocky Mountain Wolf Project, offers 19 large photographs and 14 text panels in the museum's second-floor gallery. Living with Wolves founders Jim and Jamie Dutcher have spent more than 20 years studying and documenting wolf behavior. They created the exhibit to advance the understanding of wolves.

The 2018 Tour de Farms van tour will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday and will visit four vegetable-growing locations in Bayfield.
The tour offers tips about starting or improving vegetable gardens, how to food grow food locally and more.
Participants will check in at 7:30 a.m. at Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, in Bayfield. The tour will visit: Homegrown Farm, 2930 County Road 526; De Goats N Sheep Ranch, 9397 County Road 502; All Seasons Farm, 4040 County Road 509; and Andrew Trujillo's backyard garden.
Tickets are $25. Proceeds go to the Pine River Garden Club.
