The Aug. 7 edition of the Herald contained still another article about the bag tax. In response to questions from a county resident, City Manager Ron LeBlanc once again showed his disrespect for county residents, including those who live within the city limits, when he said, “It’s hard to educate when the students leave the classroom.”
What an arrogant statement! Does he think we are children? The City Council and city management do not want to educate. They were there to vote, and they all knew what the vote was going to be.
If you want to change behavior by education, you do not impose a punishment tax. Shame on the city councilors for allowing him to act this way,
