When a fan caught a foul ball in his beer cup during the Colorado Rockies game Tuesday night against the San Diego Padres, it wasn’t long before MLB.com’s video of the amazing grab went viral on the Internet.
What didn’t go viral was the name of the man making the sudsy catch. Turns out it was Durango’s own Darrin Parmenter, director and horticulture agent of the La Plata County Extension Office – and Herald community columnist.
He celebrated by chugging his brew with the prized souvenir still in the cup. Way to go, Darrin!
