I was pulled over a few times last fall by Durango Police. Their reasoning was, “you have a license-plate light out.”
I have spoken with other members of our lovely community who have heard of this ridiculousness before; in Durango, it is “a thing.”
A mechanic at Durango Motor Company giggled when I needed help changing out a light. Not only is it funny that I needed help, it was to him hilarious because indeed, the lights were all working. They did not need to be replaced whatsoever.
Durango Police: please find another bogus reason to pull folks over. You can do it! Get creative! If you pull me over one more time when my rear license plate is fully lit, I am not afraid to take you to Judge Judy, or all the way to the Supreme Court.
Get it together on behalf of a quite-confused local resident.
