Big plays gashed the Fort Lewis College football team’s defense once again in a 35-3 loss Saturday at No. 5 CSU-Pueblo.
Cameron McDondle scored on a 68-yard touchdown run at the beginning of the second quarter to put the ThunderWolves up 14-3, while long runs set up several other CSU-Pueblo (5-0, 3-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) scores.
ThunderWolves’ tight ends Stehly Reden and DaVaughn Thornton combined for three touchdown catches in the game.
Final stats weren’t immediately available because of a power outage at the DeRose Thunderbowl pressbox.
FLC (2-3, 1-2 RMAC) got on the board with 5 minutes, 24 seconds left in the second quarter with a 37-yard field goal, but the offense stalled after that.
Broderick Sargeant led the Skyhawks’ defense with two sacks.
FLC next will play Saturday at Colorado Mines before returning home to play Colorado Mesa on Oct. 19.
