Not long ago, I was at City Market north and a man entered at the same time with a handgun on his waist. He walked like he wanted everyone to notice the ridiculous gun he was wearing.
He began shopping in the produce department, alongside moms, babies and children who were shopping after school. He walked around quite menacingly.
I wondered if he was angry when he entered the store and whether he planned to shoot the melons or the moms and kids. I complained to the manager, but he said there was nothing he could do since Colorado is an open-carry state.
I hope with the new policy, City Market will do more than discourage open-carry in their stores – such as disallow it altogether. But, it’s a positive start and I thank you.
The melons, moms, babies and kids thank you, too.
