A lot of people think that raising the minimum wage will help families have more money. And it will, but it will also harm them.
The businesses that tend to pay less cannot afford to pay more. If they are forced to pay more, they will reduce hours or go out of business entirely, and then the person who was getting paid $7 an hour will now be getting paid zero.
Personally, I would prefer getting paid $7 an hour than zero.
It is too much of a risk to raise the minimum wage when a lot of businesses will not be able to raise payment.
