Nothing former about Lyman’s Olympics

With the retirement of Judge Greg Lyman (Herald, Jan. 16), it was great to be reminded that he participated in the 1972 Winter Olympics.

Twice the article referred to Judge Lyman as a former Olympian. There are former presidents and former football and baseball players. But with participation in the Olympics, one will always be an Olympian.

It is the same with the military. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Like Judge Lyman, Travis Brown, Todd Wells and Howard Grotts will always be Olympians.
