November election results certified

DENVER – Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams has certified the results of the 2016 general election after the deadline passed for people to request a recount from the state.

The results include nine statewide ballot measures. Gov. John Hickenlooper has 30 days to sign the successful measures into law. The Colorado General Assembly then has to consider legislation to carry out the measures.

Hickenlooper on Friday signed the results of the presidential election, including certificates for each of the presidential electors and a certificate declaring Democrat Michael Bennet the winner of the U.S. Senate race.

The nine presidential electors have been told to appear in the governor’s office on Dec. 19 to cast their votes.

Several electors are challenging a law that requires them to vote for Colorado winner Hillary Clinton.
