Nov. 4, 2 p.m.: Murder Mystery Event: Murder at Gooseneck Lake: A game for adults with humorous characters, goofy story elements and a mystery to be solved. Join a team and work together to ask questions, eliminate suspects and find out whodunit. This program is for patrons 18 and older with no sign up necessary. A light meal will be provided.
Nov. 5, 4 p.m.: Anime Club: Join us for an anime showing and a cultural activity. Because of the content of the shows, all participants must be in middle school or older. Every first Monday of the month.

Nov. 10, 1 p.m.: Holiday Glass Etching: Never lose your glass baking dish again. This workshop will use the art of glass etching with cream. Nov. 7, 14, 28 and Dec. 5, 6 p.m.: Pre-Ski Season Yoga: Learn simple yoga poses and mindfulness techniques to improve success on the slopes. In this four-week class, you will learn ways to prevent injuries, even out any muscle imbalances, improve strength and soften areas of tightness. We will be learning different techniques each week, so attending all four classes is recommended but not required. Early Bird Special – $25 for four-week session, or pay $8 per class at the door. Nov. 12, 6 p.m.: Honoring those who served. The Pine River Library will celebrate community members who have served our country with their Veterans’ Stories Project. The library has been collecting oral histories of local veterans, and the first video interviews from the project will be shown at the library on Nov. 12. The videos include stories from veterans who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq. There will be a free soup dinner for all from 6 to 7 p.m., during which the short interviews will be shown.

FLC student performers will present an evening of entertainment from the musical stage, with a free coffee and dessert reception at 6:30 p.m. and a free performance at 7 p.m. “A Rainbow of Voices” celebrates the transforming power of musical theater and opera. From the fire escapes of New York City to the mountains of Appalachia to the sock hops of 1960s Baltimore, these scenes showcase music’s inspirational role in social change. Featuring music from “West Side Story,” “In the Heights,” “Hairspray” and more.

Nov. 29, 6:30 p.m.: Avalanche Awareness Basics: Join local nonprofit Friends of the San Juans for a 90-minute awareness class and workshop discussion about avalanche safety and smart backcountry travel. Learn about basic avalanche awareness, avoidance and safe travel practices, human factors and decision-making, and avalanche forecasting and information resources.
Nov. 30, 12:30 p.m.: Senior Center Outreach: Library staff reach out to the seniors in the community and bring books, audiobooks, DVDs to the Senior Center in Bayfield. All items are available for check out.
