Oaths and honesty in government

When I was a young boy in school, I believed that when a person swore on a Bible “to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth,” they actually did so. Maybe I was naive back then. It is apparent to me now that some people lie all the time.

We have a man in the White House who swore to uphold the Constitution, but does anything but that. He has a Cabinet and secretaries who lied to Congress to get approval for their positions. Are these people who lie to Congress not subject to impeachment and removal? Has dishonesty become the accepted norm in our country?

When will those whom we have sent to Washington step up and do their jobs? When it is time for the midterm elections, let us all remember the activities of the current administration and vote accordingly.
