Why would you ever publish the letter entitled “LGBT Community is danger to others?” This hateful letter shouldn’t be published anywhere. I am shocked and offended that you would publish something so offensive.
Hate crimes against LGBT people are up! The civil discourse in our country is extreme and tribal currently. You have a responsibility to not normalize hateful speech by publishing it. Would you be okay if the letter writer was addressing any other group of people in this manner?
I am in absolute dismay that the Durango Herald would publish this letter. You should apologize and retract this hateful letter immediately.
