Open letter from Durango Herald circulation

Dear Durango Herald Readers,

I’m sure you’ve noticed that today’s paper has a new look. This is the result of our search for a solution to the rising production costs to newspapers across the nation. We value our partnership with our subscribers, so passing this increase on to you was not an acceptable option. However, reducing the width by 1 inch provides a cost savings that allows us to continue to deliver the same high-quality product without increasing the price of the paper.

In fact, the value of The Durango Herald significantly increases with the addition of award-winning Washington Post News Service with Bloomberg News. Access to this national and global content today and going forward is an immediate improvement, and a great addition to the quality local news and articles provided daily by our journalists.

This new format may require you to take a few moments to find all your favorite sections so we’ve provided a “Table of Contents” insert on the days that are affected. See chart for a summary and feel free to contact the circulation department if you need more guidance.

We are also streamlining our production and operations procedures. This is a time of transition both for our staff and our team of newspaper carriers. While we don’t anticipate any disruption to your service, it is a possibility that your paper will be a little later than usual while we iron out any kinks. We appreciate your patience as we strive to optimize our operations and customer satisfaction.

Sincerely,

The Durango Herald Circulation Team
