Have you wondered why Colorado’s single-payer proposed health care (Amendment 69) proposition is being proposed as an amendment to our state Constitution instead of going through the legislative process and becoming law? I think the answer is that it would never make it through both houses.
Maybe our legislators are smarter than we’d like to give them credit for. How have similar ideas worked in other states? Here’s a quote from Wikipedia: “Several single-payer state referendums and bills from state legislatures have been proposed, but, with the exception of Vermont, all have failed. In December 2014, Vermont canceled its plan for single-payer health care.”
Does Colorado think it can invent a better square wheel? Do a little research before voting.
