It is stunning, absolutely shocking, to fully face the reality that our county commissioners and county planning dept. are so woefully inept concerning the development of county codes.
Rather than do their work, they resorted to purchasing an atrocious document from some outfit that knows nothing of life nor the people of La Plata County.
Apparently this outfit does support population control, and the document enabled the commissioners to attempt to foist this fraud, this atrocity, on the citizens they purport to represent.
Surely the commissioners cannot believe that the population they claim to represent will swallow their assertion that Modules 2 and 3 are better!
It is plain to see that the citizens of La Plata County are not well-represented by these commissioners, and it is plain to see that the activities of the county planning offices are poorly overseen and directed.
If this document, fraudulently presented as codes, which serves only to further trample and erode private property rights in our county, is the best these people can do, then perhaps they must consider stepping down.
I suggest “we the people” begin legal action to increase the number of county commissioners to a total of five, with three of those members being specifically from rural districts.
There is talent and expertise in the citizenry to provide guidance to develop reasonable codes for county.
