When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the Democratic Party had many options to allow women in red states to continue to control their own bodies. Not easy options. Options that required spending considerable political capital.
But instead of actually doing anything, the Democrats sounded their one tried and true alarm – send money. Send money so we can fight the Republicans. Send money so we can get reelected.
Now President Musk and Vice President Trump are destroying our democracy. I send notes to our senators, Hickenlooper and Bennet, expressing my outrage and asking that they step up to this once in an over two century challenge. And … No response from Bennet. But Hickenlooper rose to the challenge. He said – send money.
It is time for all who care about this American experiment in democracy to stand up and stop this theft of our country. Just don’t count on the Democrats to help.
