Superintendent Snowberger’s call for students not to walk out of school on March 14 over gun violence is a missed opportunity to teach civic engagement. I understand his concern for student safety, but he is missing the fact that students do not feel safe while at school.
I encourage the students to exercise their right to peaceful protest and to get their message out that something has got to be done to end school shootings.
Somewhere I read that the greatness of America is the right to protest for what is right.
