5K dash to benefit Science Center
The Color Dash, a national fundraising organization, will partner with Powerhouse Science Center and Three Springs to bring the first Color Dash 5K to Durango on July 27.
The Color Dash gives back to the hosting community – donating 50 percent of every registration fee to a local charitable nonprofit. As a benefit for Powerhouse Science Center, Three Springs will host the event.
The fun run, which will start at 10:30 a.m., is a race for all ages and is tailored for family participation. Occurring at each kilometer, a color station launches nontoxic, nonirritating, food-grade dyed cornstarch onto participants, covering them in array of natural and environmentally safe colors.
Following the Color Dash, Powerhouse Science Center will hold an after-race party for participants and the community. The Powerhouse Plaza at 1333 Camino del Rio will have live music, games, and food and drink available from Powerhouse Eatery + Libations.
To register, visit http://thecolordash5k.com or call Ashley Hein at 403-1861.
