Seniors Outdoors announces activities

Seniors Outdoors will offer these activities:

The semi-annual highway cleanup day will take place Saturday. Members will clean up two stretches of U.S. Highway 550. Coffee and donuts will be served in the parking area across from the Hermosa Conoco station. The cost to carpool is $1. Dogs are not allowed. A bike ride for intermediate road cyclists will take place Monday. This is a no-drop, social ride of 16 miles from Home Depot to Bread. A hike on Stevens Creek Trail will take place Tuesday. This hike is rated hard for distance, but the grade is easy, and the pace is moderate. The cost to carpool is $3. To RSVP, call David Wright at 259-5978 or email djwright001@gmail.com.

Backpacking in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park will take place from Wednesday to April 24. Dogs are not allowed in national parks. To RSVP, call Penny Jones at 426-9585 or email 1centpenny@gmail.com.

A hike from Big Canyon to Horse Gulch will take place April 24. This is a through-hike in the Telegraph Trail System with a stop for lunch at Pautsky Point. Santa Fe to host a bike ride with options

The 2015 Santa Fe Century Bicycle Ride will take place May 17.

The ride has three loops: the 100-mile Century, the 50-mile Half-Century and the 20-mile Out and Back; and two timed rides: a 100-mile Gran Fondo and a 50-mile Medio Fondo.

Santa Fe’s Cowgirl Hall of Fame will provide the food and Santa Fe Brewing Co. the drinks.

Online registration for the Century and Gran Fondo are $35 and $50, respectively. The 50-mile Half-Century and Medio Fondo are $45 and $50, respectively. The 20-mile Out and Back is $20. On-site registration fees will be $10 higher.
