Muir Trail documentary to be shown at Gaslight

“Mile ... Mile & a Half,” a feature documentary about a 25-day, 219-mile journey along the John Muir Trail in California, will be screened at 7 p.m. Thursday at The Gaslight Twin.

The film follows a group of artists who hike the trail from the Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous United States. Along the way, they are joined by musicians, painters, teachers and other adventure-seekers.

Co-producer Kia M. Kiso was born in Durango and will be on hand for the screening.

Advance tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/392378. There is no fixed price for tickets, but producers are suggesting $11 to offset costs. Half of the ticket proceeds will be donated to Animas High School.
