Nordic center announces events
The Nordic Center at Purgatory will host these events:
The first Coke race of the season will take place Saturday. There will be skate ski races of 15km for adults and shorter distances for juniors. A Fat Tire bike race of 15km also will take place. Registration will start at 9 a.m. at the Nordic Center. The ski races will start at 10 a.m. and the bike race will start at 11 a.m. The cost of the race is $10 for juniors and $20 for adults. There will be a mad hatters theme for the race with prizes for the best costume.
A Skate Ski Clinic will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be classes for all levels of skier. Equipment rentals are available at the Nordic Center. The cost of the clinic is $25 for Nordic season pass holders or $30 for other skiers.

Ice rink open in Pagosa Springs
The Pagosa Multi-Purpose Pavilion announces that the ice rink in downtown Pagosa Springs will be open for public skating seven days a week.
The rink’s regular hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday to Thursday. Sunday is Family Day with special pricing from noon to 4 p.m. Curling is offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. For more information on hockey or curling, call 903-2394. The rink will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The rink offers season passes and punch cards. The general admission price is $3 and skate rentals are $5.
