Nordic Center to host skate ski clinic

The Nordic Center at Purgatory will hold a skate ski clinic at 1 p.m. Saturday.

There will be classes for skiers of all ability levels. The cost is $20 for Nordic season-pass holders, $25 for other skiers. Rental equipment is available at the Nordic Center.

Seniors Outdoors announces activities

Seniors Outdoors will host these activities:

A moderate cross-country ski tour is planned for Friday. The location will be determined according to snow conditions. Dogs are not allowed. For more information, call Travis Ward at 247-1310 or email tlward@frontier.net.

A three-day, two-night cross-country ski on Grand Mesa is planned, weather permitting. To RSVP, call Charlie Berglund at 247-9747 or email chasberglund@msn.com.

2nd Locals Benefit Day at DMR will be Jan. 12

The second Locals Benefit Day at Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort will take place Jan. 12.

Lift tickets for Locals Benefit Day are priced at $40 for adults, $32 for young adults (ages 13-17) and seniors (65-79), $25 for kids (6-12 years) and super seniors (80-plus).

A coupon must be presented at the ticket window for the discount. Coupons will be available on the Purgatory website at www.SkiPurg.com. A punch card for $99 for the remaining three benefit days is available at the DMR Bodo Industrial Park office or at the ticket office on the mountain. In addition to Jan. 12, the other benefit day dates will be Feb. 9 and March 2.

Sexual Assault Services Organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado, Annie’s Orphans and Medicine Horse Center will benefit from all the benefit days.
