Navajo State Park announces projects
These construction projects are planned for Navajo State Park south of Ignacio:
The boat dock was rebuilt so it can be placed in the water in sections according to water level. Reinstallation of the dock will occur early next spring.
The boat ramp is scheduled to be resurfaced before next summer.
A new decontamination station will be built and ready next summer.
The dry storage facility is being expanded.
In the spring, work will continue on a hiking trail. When finished, the trail will extend for about six miles from the Rosa campground to Arboles Point.
The water-delivery system to the Sambrito wetlands will be improved and expanded. Volunteers are needed to help with ditch maintenance, water delivery and planting trees and shrubs.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff will work on other infrastructure repair projects, including upgrading the park sewage and sanitation systems.
