Two Pagosa Springs residents were killed in a head-on crash Monday afternoon on Yellowjacket Pass in Archuleta County.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Jonathan Silver said Henry R. Buslepp, 82, died in the crash, and passenger Norma E. Buslepp, also 82, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center, where a hospital spokesman on Tuesday said she had died.
Silver said the Buslepps were eastbound on U.S. Highway 160 in a 2008 Nissan Altima. Their car drifted over the double-yellow centerline into the path of a westbound semitrailer driven by 46-year-old Alonzo Luna of Anthony, N.M. Luna was not injured.
All three people were using seat belts, Silver said. He did not consider drugs, alcohol or excessive speed to be factors.
The crash occured at 4:30 p.m.
