Pagosa Folk ’N Bluegrass Festival canceled

Annual event was scheduled for first week in June
KSUT Presents announced Saturday it is canceling this year’s Pagosa Folk ’N Bluegrass Festival because of the novel coronavirus.

KSUT Presents announced Saturday it is canceling this year’s Pagosa Folk ’N Bluegrass Festival, originally scheduled for June 5-7.

“In light of the current coronavirus pandemic, KSUT Presents has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the 2020 Pagosa Folk ’N Bluegrass Festival,” the organization said on the festival’s website. “Our primary concern has been and remains the health, wellness, and safety of our festival community. At this time, we don’t feel as though it’s a responsible decision to move forward with a gathering of this magnitude.”

Next week, ticket holders will receive an email with information about refund options, the release said, adding that the organization is speaking with its 2020 artists to see if they can commit to the June 4-6, 2021 dates.

Scheduled to perform this year were: Tommy Emmanuel, Eilen Jewel, Lil Smokies, Town Mountain, Jon Stickley Trio, Shinyribs, Tony Furtado, The Wooks, Songs From the Road Band, The Honey Dewdrops, Stillhouse Junkies, FY5, Bonnie and the Clydes and Yellow Jacket Singers.

There’s a little good news, though: For now, KSUT Presents is still “cautiously moving forward” with the Four Corners Folk Festival in September.
