Pain of losing loved ones never subsides

In response to the letter to the editor by Naomi Beans regarding Dylan Redwine’s death (Herald, July 9), we cannot believe that she had the insensitivity to write the letter regarding Elaine Hatfield and ask her to accept her son’s disappearance and death.

Unless you have walked in anyone’s shoes who has lost a loved one due to murder or a violent or tragic death, then keep your opinions to yourself. We know, because we lost our son Ted Garcia five years ago on July 24, 2010, and the pain of losing a child, especially in a tragic way NEVER goes away, and we will NOT get over it! Our son was murdered by admission by his brother-in-law, Joseph Dernoga.

How dare Beans try to tell any family to go on with their lives like their loved ones were never here. She should have a heart and keep her opinions to herself.
