Parking restrictions set for Snowdown Light Parade

Parking will not be permitted on the parade route areas effective at 2:15 p.m.

The Intergalactic Snowdown light parade will begin with a single firework at dusk, about 6 p.m. Friday on Main Avenue in downtown Durango.

The Light Parade is the only night parade held in Durango, consistently attracting crowds of around 10,000 spectators.

Parking will not be permitted on the parade route areas effective at 2:15 p.m.

Traffic will be detoured away from the parade route, with road closures on Fifth Street from Main to Sixth Avenue at 2:30 p.m., and Main Avenue from Fifth to Thirteenth Street at 4 p.m.

All vehicles in parking lots adjacent to road closures should be moved before 4 p.m.

Free shuttles will run before and after the parade from trolley stops on north Main Avenue to downtown.
