Past honored at Allison-Tiffany Cemetery

There were about 60 people from the Allison, Tiffany and Arboles area, and other parts of the county, who gathered to enjoy the Memorial Days service at the Allison-Tiffany Cemetery on Monday, May 25.

We celebrated our loved ones, veterans and friends. Flags had been placed at the graves of the veterans.

Lynn Swanemyr and Jim Sutton raised the flag as the Durango Acapella Quartet sang the National Anthem. Pastor Al TeBrink led the opening and closing prayer along with a message. Tyller Gummersall sang "God Must Have Been a Cowboy" and "Amazing Grace" with the audience joining in. The quartet also performed a medley of songs that pleased the crowd. The children released balloons hearing the message of "Faith, Love and Hope." Dusty  Mars ended the program playing "Taps" on his violin.

The cemetery was well groomed thanks to Burl and Sharon Nossaman. We have had lots of rain and appreciated that - the morning started out raining but it quit and was cloudy during the program, and then more rain came. Refreshments were served with lots of good visiting afterwards. Thanks to all the friends, neighbors, and families that help make this a very special day.
