Patriotic superpowers: Blind to the Constitution

Unsurprising that our local “Patriot” watchdog has shown himself an adept ape of the MAGA superpower – absolute shamelessness (Herald, Sept. 10).

Decrying those with the temerity to question the constitutionality of masked agents who abduct and disappear people for a misdemeanor (yes, being undocumented is that), while cheering the convicted felon leading this nation, is quite the audacious reveal. I’d wager that if masked city agents shackled and marched him away for a code violation (also a misdemeanor) he would feel differently – but, of course, never concede the parity of law. Shamelessness at work!

As for the smear of half this county being America hating and unpatriotic, I suggest research of due process, separation of powers, profiteering, insurrection incitement (and pardoning of those duly prosecuted), among numerous other documented, undisputed instances of ignoring, skirting, and violating laws and norms going back decades with our current commander.

As he has decried to the Herald in the past, willful ignorance and omission of fact, is complicity. A look in the mirror may be warranted. But here is where I think our “Patriot” will call upon his superpowers.
