Ronald Matson draws chalk art on the sidewalk near 11th Street and Main Avenue on Thursday. Matson has being leaving his chalk art on Durango sidewalks for more than a year. “It brings a lot of positivity,” he said. “That’s probably the main reason I do it, is just to brighten people’s day up and add some more color to the world.” He doesn’t mind it when it rains or snows and washes away his work, saying his work would grow old if it were more permanent. “When the rain washes it away, I feel like it’s a refreshing start,” he said.
