Madison Rafferty, a server at Steamworks Brewing Co., samples the new Colorado Proud Pale Ale at that the restaurant tapped Friday. The beer is made using ingredients exclusively from Colorado, including mountain spring water from the San Juan Mountains, barley grown in the San Luis Valley and malted in Monte Vista by Proximity Malt Company, yeast provided by the Brewing Science Institute in Woodland Park and Chinook and Cascade hops locally grown at Pine River Hops in Bayfield and harvested fresh at the brewpub on Aug. 23 Colorado Proud Ale is available for a limited time. “We will have it until it’s gone,” said Steamworks spokeswoman Indiana Reed. “We are not bottling it.”
