Photo: Donation drive collects food and clothing for Navajo Nation

Susan Vandenberg drops off clothing as Claire Clancy gets it out of her car Tuesday during a food, clothing and pet food drive for residents of the Navajo Nation. Donations are being accepted at the parking lot across from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 254 East Fifth Ave., and can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday. With winter coming, warm clothing, jackets and boots are needed for all ages. Nonperishable food and dog and cat food will also be accepted. Sacred Heart is hosting the drive for Toyei Industries, a nonprofit in Chinle, Arizona, which serves developmentally disabled Native Americans on the Navajo Nation and their families.
