“I go to Purgatory, but here is where I work on my stuff, 180s and grabs,” said Gavin Hammit, 13, while snowboarding Friday at Chapman Hill. Durango Parks and Recreation announced they will extend the ski season on the hill through March 24 with amended times and prices. The ski area was set to close Sunday. Beginning Tuesday, extended hours will be 3 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Lift tickets will be adjusted for the new spring hours. All kids up to 5 years old are free. The cost for those 6 and older is $8.
