Julia Brown, from South Carolina, said she was “sucking wind” after being in town for only one day before participating in the Animas Mug Run, a fundraiser held Sunday for Lisa Parker Puppies. The race on Animas City Mountain offered 6.2-mile, 3.5-mile and 1-mile options. Brown, who ran the 3.5-mile run, said, “I couldn’t breathe at all. My lungs were hurting worse than my legs.” The annual fun run fundraiser has been held since the 1980s.
