Erin Hutchins, election administrator with the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, and Hank Searfus, an election judge, pick up ballots Thursday from the drop box at the La Plata County Administration Building. “This is the second collection of the day and the ballot box was stuffed again,” Hutchins said. “About 40,000 ballots were mailed out to La Plata County residents on Friday from Albuquerque, and people started receiving them Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday was a holiday, so no mail that day. People have been dropping them off in droves.”
