CJ Fuss, a recreation assistant with Chapman Hill, looks over the results on Tuesday after the first night of snow-making with six snow-making guns blowing the manmade snow on the ski area. The city plans to open the ski area before Christmas; how soon depends on the cold weather continuing. Last year, the city used 1.3 million gallons of snow to cover the slope.
