Contractors made quick work tearing down a building at 1111 Camino del Rio that caught fire early May 21. The fire, which is suspected to be arson, remains under investigation by the Durango Police Department, Durango Fire Protection District, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information on the fire can call (800) 283-4867. The building had been vacated and was scheduled for demolition before the fire to make way for a new hotel.
