Paula Pletnikoff, a Fort Lewis College Local Food Fellow, plants red carrots in the FLC Environmental Center’s garden on Thursday on campus. The center uses the garden as a demonstration to educate people on local food security. A portion of the area is called the Square Foot Garden, which shows people you don’t need a lot of space to grow your own food, Pletnikoff said. Food raised in the garden is sold to Sodexo, which provides dining services on campus.
