This group of telephone company employees were working on the line in the alley at 11th Street just east of Main Avenue in June 1908. Two of the workers are identified as Bert Johnson and E.E. Hoskins, though which two is unknown. Smelter Mountain is seen in the background. Just above the fence line is the top of the building that today houses the El Rancho Tavern at the corner of 10th Street and Main Avenue.<br><br>Ed Horvat for Animas Museum, edhorvat@animasmuseum.org
