Thirteen teams take off from the 32nd Street put-in Wednesday during the 19th annual “Battle of the Animas,” a competition hosted by Mild to Wild Rafting & Jeep Trail Tours. Teams from local restaurants, lodging establishments and tourist shops race from 32nd Street to Santa Rita Park to claim the annual championship. Durango Outdoor Exchange took first place, Ore House took first loser (second place), Durango DoubleTree Hotel took second loser (third place) and 11th Street Station was the biggest loser (last place).
