Dan Gustavson, left, Phillip Journey, center, and Chris Journey pick out props for the photo booth Friday at “Night to Shine,” held at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. “We in little, bitty Durango get to be part of a worldwide event,” said Joy Larson, of Treasury Ministry and organizer of Night to Shine in Durango, one of 540 events held worldwide to honor people with special needs. Larson said she expected about 500 people to attend in Durango. “It’s designed to be a celebration of life. Valentine’s Day is coming up, and this is designed as a celebration of love for everyone.” The event was sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.
Decorated tables and dinner provided by CJ’s Diner set a classy and fun mood for “Night to Shine,” held Friday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
