Kiwanis Club of Durango members and La Plata County staff members carry picnic tables Tuesday into the pavilion between the baseball fields at the fairgrounds. Kiwanis Club members got the idea for the tables during one of their events at the pavilion while sitting at folding tables. The club bought the lumber, and students in shop class at Escalante Middle School built the 10 tables.
