Silvia Bedwell paints sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine, on a window at the Strater Hotel on Wednesday for a donation in support of the besieged country. “My heart breaks for the Ukraine people,” she said. “I just can’t watch the news without doing something and this way everybody gets to help out, too. So far I’ve asked six businesses and all of them said yes to flowers on their windows.” Bedwell hopes to raise $3,000.
