The Pine River Garden Club will hold its annual plant exchange from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Pine River Library.
Bring a plant, take a plant or make a donation and take a plant. There will also be crafts, baked goods and drinks.
Come early and mark plants with the plant name and whether or not it was grown organically. Garden club members will assign a value and provide a credit for every plant brought to the exchange. The credit can be used to purchase other plants inside the exchange.
Gardeners can also come with cash or checks and have a wonderful time exploring the array of plants provided by local gardeners. The variety of plants ranges from irises and comfrey to Russian sage and vegetables.
All funds raised go to support the Garden Club’s many community efforts to provide food to those in need and expand educational services to both children and adults alike to encourage growing food and foliage.
A bake sale to benefit the library, crafts and drinks will also be part of the festivities.
